With Rob Gronkowski likely out until after week six of the regular season and Jake Ballard still having knee problems, Daniel Fells is likely the Patriots’ number one tight end right now, according to the Boston Globe.
Daniel Fells is the likely No. 1 tight end at this point, with Michael Hoomanawanui working mostly at H-back, leaving Ballard to fight with Sudfeld to be the No. 2 tight end.
The 29 year-old Fells hasn’t been much of a factor so far during his career. His best season was in 2010 with the Rams when he had 41 receptions for 391 yards and 2 touchdowns.
