According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Dallas Cowboys have asked linebacker Dan Connor to take a pay cut.  If he declines, he’ll end up being released.

Connor currently accounts for $4.3 million against the cap for the Cowboys.  I’m sure they would love to get that cut down to around $1 million or less for next season.

What good is a team salary cap when teams always exceed the cap space anyway? So, why do the league have the cap and teams exceed the cap anyway? You have all these teams 20 – 30 million over the cap. How does this happen? Why is it allowed?
