Cowboys rework some more contracts to lower their cap number

The Dallas Cowboys have been busy over the past couple days as they continue to restructure numerous contracts as they work on getting under the salary cap for the new league year that begins on March 12th.

Yesterday the Cowboys reworked DeMarcus Ware’s contract.   Today they cut down Nate Livings’, Jason Witten’s, and Brandon Carr’s contract.

We don’t have all of the numbers, but so far from what we can tell, the Cowboys have freed up $17.65 million after restructuring, Ware, Witten, and Carr.  That’s not bad for a team that was $20 million over the cap yesterday.

Update: The Cowboys have cleared $20 million, which should get them just under the cap.
