Ever since the Dallas Cowboys traded their first, third, and sixth round picks in the 2009 draft for receiver Roy Williams , he has been under a microscope by the fans and media.
The Cowboys gave up way too much to obtain Williams for him to have dropped in production from when he was with the Lions. The really sad part about his production is that he hasn’t even reached at least 600 yards receiving in one season since coming to the Cowboys. He also has less then 40 receptions in each of his two seasons in Dallas.
With the emergence of receiver Dez Bryant last season, its very likely that Williams’ days in Dallas are numbered. Bryant had 45 receptions this past season which is eight more then Williams. Bryant only played in 12 games due to injury and he had eight more catches then Williams who played in 15 games.. Bryant also finished the season with one more touchdown then Williams.
I believe there’s a really good chance that Williams will lose his starting spot to Bryant next season. That’s if Bryant is able to stay healthy.
Williams is due over $5 million dollars for the 2011 season which is way to much for a guy that can’t even surpass 50 receptions in a season.
