Acording to Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys and linebacker Dan Connor are working on a new contract that would keep him around.
This off-season, management had asked Connor, a reserve linebacker, to take a pay cut so the Cowboys could clear room under the NFL’s $123 million salary cap.
Connor’s 2013 cap number is $4.35 million and his base salary is $3 million. Connor, 27, signed a two-year, $6.5 million contract with the Cowboys last March after spending the previous four seasons with Carolina.
If both sides aren’t able to work out a deal, I believe Connor will be released.
