Cowboys aren’t optimistic Jay Ratliff is ready to play

According to the Dallas Morning News,  Cowboys officials will work out defensive tackle Jay Ratliff this week to see if he’s ready to play after spending the first six weeks on the PUP list.  The only thing is that they’re not very optimistic that he’s healthy and ready to go.

Ratliff hasn’t played since he hurt his groin last November and underwent surgery for a sports hernia the following month. During a conditioning test before training camp in July, he suffered a mild hamstring strain and was sidelined throughout the preseason.

In August, Ratliff hinted he wasn’t pleased with how the team handled his recovery from his injuries. And he has since done most of his rehabilitation away from the organization’s Valley Ranch facility while providing updates on his progress.

It’s sad that such a talented player like Ratliff is still out.
