Baltimore Ravens rookie linebacker Courtney Upshaw re-injured his shoulder during Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Rams.
“Upshaw, who was bothered throughout training camp by a sprained right shoulder, reinjured it in the second quarter of the Ravens’ 31-17 loss. He jogged off the field favoring his shoulder and he did not return to the game.
“Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that the second-round draft pick, who missed the team’s preseason opener and about a week of practice time with the injury, will have a magnetic resonance imaging taken on Friday,” wrote Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun.
Harbaugh indicated that he’s concerned about Upshaw’s injury.
“Yeah, I’m concerned,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll find out tomorrow with an MRI what it is.”
Upshaw has already under achieved during the preseason and may not have started right away this season any way. Hopefully he can get healthy and back on the field as soon as possible in order for him to make some type of contribution to the Ravens this season.
