The Minnesota Vikings traded four draft picks in this year’s draft to jump back into the first round to take receiver Cordarrelle Paterson with the 29th pick. During the Vikings’ first preseason game, Paterson proved the Vikings’ did the right thing.
Patterson returned a punt 50 yards and also caught the ball 4 times for 54 yards. He did all of this in the first half.
Whether he’s returning kicks or catching the ball, Patterson says he’s up for anything.
That’s my job,” Patterson said of proving he can help as a receiver. “I take every job I do serious. So if I can get those extra touches, I take advantage of it, either I’m on kickoff return or I’m catching a pass.”
The team is hoping that they can use Patterson to replace the recently departed Percy Harvin. If he can play like this during the season(and not get migraines all the time), it looks like Vikings have hit the jackpot.
