After watching both Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck during their respective pro day’s this week, there’s some belief that the Indianapolis Colts may at least think about drafting Griffin III first overall, at least Mike Mayock of the NFL Network believes they might.
“I think it’s a healthy conversation,” said Mayock. “I think behind the confines of your building, it’s a conversation (the Colts) have to have.
“I mean, this is the future of both their respective franchises. Each one of these kids is going to be the face of the franchise, hopefully, for the next 10 years or so, so you better get it right.”
“Bottom line to me: I think Indy’s definitely going to take Andrew Luck. I think Washington’s excited to get RG3, and I think both of those franchises will be tied at the hip with their respective quarterbacks.”
I agree with Mayock, I think the Colts have to think about what RGIII brings to the table, but in the end, they’ll draft Luck.

They’ll have a pro forma conversation about whether or not they should have a conversation … And then go with Luck. Just no good reason for them to go with RGIII when they can have Luck, who is really, really wonderful in general, a safer choice and a great fit for their organization and a better personality to follow Manning. If the Redskins had been the worst team, it would be a more serious dilemma … RGIII is a good fit for them in terms of skill set and his personality is a good fit for their fans.
