As Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star points out, 15 out of 16 regular season games that the Indianapolis Colts will play this year will start at 1 p.m. The only prime-time appearance the Colts have is a Thursday, November 8th game at Jacksonville.
Coming off a 2-14 season in which they secured the first overall draft pick by having the worst record in the NFL, it would seem the Colts have been deemed “not ready for prime-time.”
The Colts will have a rookie quarterback, almost certainly Andrew Luck, as their starter during the 2012 season. With all of the hype surrounding Luck as we get closer to the 2012 NFL draft, it is perhaps a mild surprise that the NFL wouldn’t want to showcase him a little more this year.
The Indianapolis Colts will debut their 2012 season at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears.
