Detroit Lions defensive end Cliff Avril was asked if he’s willing to take less money to stick around in Detroit.
“I don’t know. It depends on the situation, honestly,” Avril said in an interview with ‘Pro Football Talk’ on NBC Sports, per MLive.com. “It depends on why I would be taking less money, first off. I don’t know, but we just have to get the numbers going and we’ll see. I really don’t know if I would take less right now.”
I don’t think Avril will take less money to stay with the Lions. They’re not a Super Bowl contender and he has the body of work that will enable him to sign with almost any team he wants.
Avril has averaged almost 10 sacks per year over the past three seasons.
