Detroit Lions defensive end Cliff Avril told DetroitLions.com that he likely won’t show up training camp on time, since he’ll now be forced to play under the franchise tag this season.
“I probably won’t be there the first day,” Avril said. “We’ll just go from there. I just have to sit down and see what we think is right and we’ll go from there.”
According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, Avril turned down a three-year, $30 million offer from the Lions.
