Clay Matthews underwent surgery on his thumb, likely out more than a month

We mentioned last night that Packers linebacker Clay Matthews Jr.  will be out for a month with a broken thumb.

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports,  Matthews underwent surgery on his thumb on Monday.

Clay Matthews had successful surgery on his thumb today.

It sounds like Matthews will miss more than a month.

Clay Matthews injury called a Bennett fracture. Thumb needed to be stabilized w pins bc its dislocated. Pins out in 4 weeks and then probably some more time to heal.
