Now that the Minnesota Viking players have kicked off their own “mini camp” this week down in Florida, rookie quarterback Christian Ponder has been given the task of teaching his teammates the new playbook.
The Vikings hired Bill Musgrave as their new offensive coordinator this off-season but have been unable to distribute playbooks due to the lockout. Ponder was able to receive his playbook when he met with Musgrave during the short period when the lockout was lifted during the NFL draft.
In order to get his teammates on the same page, Ponder headed to Kinkos to make copies of the playbook. Guys like Percy Harvin, Adrian Peterson, Sidney Rice and Visanthe Shiancoe need to get up to speed since the NFL season is set to begin in just a few months.
Ponder is displaying great leadership for a rookie in making sure his teammates will be ready for the 2011 season.
