Buffalo Bills defensive end Chris Kelsey says he’s not giving up his number 90 for Mario Williams, who was signed as a free agent a couple of months ago. He says that Williams understands reasoning and hasn’t asked for the number.
Right now we don’t know what number Williams will wear, nothing has been announced yet. But something should get done soon, since Bills fans are clamoring to get a Mario Williams jersey.
Kelsay isn’t interested in Williams buying the number from him.
“The team told us something would need to be decided on fairly soon,” Kelsay said. “I spoke with Mario. I actually brought it up to him, he didn’t bring it up to me. He completely understood.”
“I’ve worn it my entire career here,” said Kelsay. “A lot of times in a situation like this, the guy will buy it from you. But I’m not really interested in that.”
Some people believe Williams might end up wearing No. 92, which is currently worn by Alex Carrington. The Bill don’t have any unoccupied numbers from 90-99, so if he can’t acquire a number from another player, he might have to go with a once in the range of 60-79.
