It was reported yesterday that Lions cornerback Chris Houston came out and said that 49ers wide receiver Randy Moss is only a possession receiver and can’t go deep the way he used to.
Houston was very upset that he was misquoted by the media.
Houston made it clear that wasn’t what he said.
“Media sure do change your words to make a game and sale tickets,” Houston wrote, per ProFootballTalk.com. “No way I could talk negative about Moss he’s a legend HOF WR. . . . I said moss can take the top off of defenses and he can be a possession WR to move the chains simple and plain. How did they twist my words?”
Josh Katzenstein of The Detroit News apologized for his mistake in quoting Houston.
Apologies to @Chris23Houston. An honest case of mishearing 'can't' instead of 'can.' Didn't realize my tweets would be used for nat'l story.
