Chris Clemons rejects Seahawks' contract offer, will hit free agency in 2013

According to Len Pasquarelli of the Sports Xchange, the Seattle Seahawks offered defensive end Chris Clemons a three-year contract that would pay him $8 million this season, instead of the original $4 million he’s set to make.  He would then make $4.5 million 2013 and $5.5 million in 2014.  This means Clemons would essentially earn $18 million over three seasons.

Clemons has decided to reject the offer in hopes of getting more money as a free agent next spring.

It also looks like Clemons won’t be showing up any time soon to the Seahawks facility until his contract is worked out.
