Free agent defensive tackle Chris Canty told The Mack Attack on 610 The Fan in Charlotte that he’s willing to take a hometown discount in order to sign with the Carolina Panthers.
It might make sense for Canty to sign with the Panthers, since former Giants front office executive Dave Gettleman is now their general manager. Especially since Canty is willing to take less money to sign with Carolina.
The Panthers aren’t that far off from being a playoff contender. If they can get some more consistency from quarterback Cam Newton as well as the back-end of their defense, they’ll be a tough team to beat in 2013.
