According to Peter King of SI.com, both the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will privately work out former Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill this week down in College Station, TX.
The Eagles will head down to Texas today to work out Tannehill, which is very interesting since he’s projected as a top ten pick right now.
Could the Eagles trade up and draft Tannehill? Sure they’d likely have to give up a lot to do so. They would then likely let him sit for a couple of years behind Michael Vick and once he’s ready, they could then move on from Vick.
The Eagles could also just be putting up a smoke screen in order to try to throw some other teams off. But why waste your time to head down to Texas to privately work out a prospect your truly not interested in?
The Chiefs on the other hand plan on working out Tannehill later on in the week. They’re obviously not sold on Matt Cassel and I don’t blame them. I believe this season is a make or break year for Cassel who needs to show he can play at a high level on a consistent basis.
