Free agent safety Charles Woodson was a guest on NFL AM on Friday and was asked if any NFL teams have shown any interest in him.
“Nothing right now. Nothing substantial,” Woodson said, per NFL.com. “I’m just waiting around. We put feelers out there just to see where everybody’s at. There’s not much right now.”
Woodson says he just needs to be patient.
“I went through this before in 2006 when nobody was interested in me coming out of Oakland. I’m in the same situation now. Just have to have a little patience. I’ll land somewhere and help somebody win,” Woodson said.
Steve Wyche of the NFL Network asked Woodson if the Ravens showed any interest as they look for a replacement for Ed Reed.
“I haven’t heard anything from Baltimore or anybody else for that matter,” Woodson said.
Woodson can’t compare now to back in 2006. For one thing he’s 36 years old. He’s at the age where NFL teams probably don’t see him as a starter any longer. Woodson is no longer going to draw the attention that he once did.
