Tom Silverstain of the Sporting News made a good argument that this could be Charles Woodson’s final season with the Green Bay Packers.
Woodson is 36 years old and is scheduled to make $9 million dollars next season. After recently breaking his collarbone, he’s going to be out for at least six weeks.
Packers general manager Ted Thompson has done a nice job of bringing in young cornerbacks over the years. Rookie Casey Hayward will fill in as the Packers’ nickel corner with Woodson out.
Hayward currently leads the Packers with 4 interceptions so far this season.
While Woodson is a future Hall of Fame player, it’s not worth it for the Packers to pay him $9 million dollars next season.
