Charles Tillman uncertain about future with Bears

Chicago Bears’ defensive back Charles Tillman was arguably the best cornerback in the league last year. He was even in discussion early in the season to win Defensive Player of the Year before the team dropped 5 out of 6 games late in the season.

With the 11-year veteran entering his contract year, Tillman tells the Chicago Tribune his goal was to play ten years in the league.

My goal coming into this league was to play 10 years. Anything after that was truly a bonus,” Tillman told the Tribune on Wednesday. “I’m happy with my career. I am happy with what I have done in the great city of Chicago. Is this my last year? I don’t think so. Maybe after the year I will evaluate my options with the Bears and with other teams and how my body feels … if I still want to play

Tillman does say he probably won’t make any decisions until February.

If I want to leave to play for another team … there are a lot of things that play into it. Do I want to retire? I will have some decisions that I will have to make at the end of the season. But as far as right now, I can make all of those decisions in February.

The Bears are in win-now mode and they’ll need to prove that they can win now to keep Tillman as he hopes to add “Super Bowl Champion” to his resume.

Charles is the Best CB in the NFL and he is a stand up guy, with all the stuff going on in the NFL you will never see his name out in the press doing bad things. 31 other teams would love him on thier roster so if the bears can’t get it done it will be thier lost
