The San Diego Chargers will sign free agent defensive end Everette Brown as long as he passes a physical.
Brown was released prior to this season by the Carolina Panthers who selected him in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft.
In his first two seasons in the NFL, Brown only has a total of six sacks. He’ll look revive his career in San Diego and try to provide a spark to a very troubled Chargers defense.

The Chargers should ditch their egoist, idiot GM sooner rather than later. First, they get rid of LaDaisian Tomason two years too late (damaged running backs who are aging are worth nothing in this league) and then they send Sproles packing. Anyone seen Sproles in New Orleans this season? He’s got another year or two after this one to still be in his prime. Sproles might be diminutive, but he’s a big playmaker on the field, like MJD down in Pensacola or wherever that irreleveant Jaguars team plays (Jaxonville should be relocated to L.A. and renamed, the “L.A. Jim Romes” or something. The only good thing A.J. whatever (Chargers GM) did was dump that head case, Shawn Merrriman. Merriman, when not getting arrested for partying with trash like tila tequila, is generally in the trainer’s room filching painkillers a la North Dallas Forty. Now that was a football movie. Merriman will soon be out smoking crack with Lawrence Taylor and Al Cowlings, running afoul of the law for public urination, spousal abuse, etc.
Good times. The Chargers had a real chance with a solid QB in Rivers, a great receiving corps, and a good football man in Norv Turner but their GM blew it and the window has closed.
