San Diego Chargers’ inside linebacker Donald Butler has missed two games this season due to a groin injury and looks to be on track to miss his third against Washington.
According to Michael Gehlken of the U-T San Diego, Butler missed practice on Monday. Butler said, like any player would after a bye week, that he’s feeling better but is being cautious.
“I’m taking it one day at a time,” Butler said. “I’m not getting too far ahead of myself. I feel better every day since I started resting it and gotten stronger every day. One day at a time.”
Safety Eric Weddle also missed practice though head coach Mike McCoy claims he “will be fine.” Weddle has a callus removed last week and Monday was just seen as a rest/rehab day for the All-Pro defensive back.
Some good news is that for the first time since September 18th, the five starting offensive linemen practiced together. Guard Chad Rinehart practiced for the first time since injuring his tow in week 3 against the Tennessee Titans. King Dunlap was also able to practice. Dunlap suffered his second concussion of the season in the Chargers’ win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
