Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic made an appearance on Arizona Sports 620′s Burns and Gambo and indicated that the Cardinals will likely look into the possibility of signing Peyton Manning once the Colts release him.
“I fully expect this team to be interested, at least kick the tires on the situation,” said Somers.
If the Cardinals are seriously interested in signing Manning, it could be why they haven’t come out and confirmed that they intend on paying Kevin Kolb the $7 million roster bonus he’s due on March 17th. But then again Somers did say that the Cardinals don’t like talking about potential roster moves.
“I don’t think there’s any doubt that they’re sitting back, looking at the timing of the whole Manning situation and are curious to see how it’s going to play out,” Somers said.
If the Cardinals believe Manning’s arm will be strong enough to play this season, they could deside to not pay Kolb his bonus and let him walk.
Despite all the speculation of Manning possibly going to the Cardinals, Kevin Kolb is not letting it bother him.
