Bucs sign Steve Smith, Nate Kaeding, and George Selvie

The Bucs have remained active this offseason by signing players to add depth to their roster and to provide competition at several positions.

Today, the team signed former Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding and former Giants wide receiver Steve Smith.

Don’t expect much out of either from a production standpoint as both are only expected to come in to provide competition at their respective positions. However, with injuries and any other uncontrollable circumstance, anything can happen.

Over the weekend, Pewter Report’s Mark Cook reported the Bucs were on the verge of signing George Selvie via Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times. Today, Buccaneers blogger Jenna Laine reported the deal is complete.

Selvie, a defensive end from USF, has spent time with the Rams, Jaguars, and Panthers. In 2007, he registered 14.5 sacks and was named All-American and the Big East Defensive Player of the Year.
