After a busy offseason in 2012, Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik sounds like he might be ready to make a run at some big money free agents this offseason.
“That has actually opened a lot of cap room for us going into 2013 – a tremendous amount,” Dominik said, per the Tampa Times. “We’ve got a chance to be (heavily) involved in free agency again.
“But we also have a chance to try to retain this nucleus of players. So (the contract restructuring) was a big commitment that our owners made and I think that should be encouraging for all fans about our football team.”
The Bucs did a great job of filling some needs last offseason. This time around they would be smart to sign a couple of cornerbacks to help out their secondary that was horrible in 2012.
