According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers have released defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
The Bucs acquired Haynesowrth this past season after claiming him off waivers from the Patriots. Once he got to Tampa, he was just as ineffective as he’s been over the past few seasons. It just might be time for him to retire.
“I appreciate Albert playing for us after some key injuries this past season,” general manager Mark Dominik said. “He was very professional and we now wish him all the best as he moves forward.”
The Buccaneers also added $6.7 million in salary cap space now that Haynesworth is gone.
