The Chargers are in a desperate need for a left tackle after missing out on the top three left tackles in the draft. According to the UT San Diego’s Michael Gehlken, Bryant McKinnie just had a good visit with the Chargers that has now led to dinner.
Told Bryant McKinnie is amidst a "very good" visit. Having dinner with Chargers tonight. Two sides have yet to talk numbers.

If committed, McKinnie could be a good one-year stop gap at left tackle; a position that was left wide open after they cut Jared Gaither. That is the issue however, there is a belief in the NFL that McKinnie just doesn’t have that commitment to football. He lost his starting role last year because he was out of shape. If he is signed and he can’t get his act straight, the Chargers will be in the same spot as last year.
