Browns new owner says Holmgren has them headed in the right direction
During Friday’s press conference, new Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam indicated that current president Mike Holmgren has done a good job and has the team headed in the right direction.
“I sense there is a strong feeling here that Mike and the team have things headed in the right direction,” Haslam said. “I think we have to listen, learn and observe. There’s no reason this can’t be a winning franchise. Everything is here. If they don’t, I’ll accept the blame. It’s our fault we didnt execute like we should. Every other piece is in place.”
It’s interesting that Haslam would say something like this since there have been reports that Holmgren will be out and former Eagles president Joe Banner will be in. He didn’t talk about any possible restructuring within the front office, we’ll have to wait until the other 31 NFL owners officially approve him as a new owner of the Browns.
