Even though Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy wasn’tdrafted by the teams new head coach pat Shurmur, he seems to have won over his new coach before taking the field. Shurmur heaped a lot of praise and displayed confidence in McCoy with the following comments.
”I feel like he’s got it,” Shurmur said. ”He makes good decisions. He’s an accurate thrower. He’s mobile. He’s got great command of the huddle. He’s a leader. He’s a guy that I think can be the guy to lead our organization, so I’m looking forward to getting to work with him.”
Shurmur would be wise to stick with a quarterback that was hand picked by Mike Holmgren. And if for some reason if McCoy doesn’t work out, he can then draft his own guy. But I believe that McCoy has what it takes to be a good NFL quarterback. Last year he proved how mentally tough he is and showed great maturity as a rookie.
