According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Browns president Mike Holmgren admitted that owner Randy Lerner is giving up his majority ownership of the team.
“Cleveland browns aren’t going anywhere. They’re going to stay,” said Holmgren, per Cabot.
Lerner is expected to sell the Browns to Tennessee businessman Jimmy Haslam, who currently has a minority stake in the Pittsburgh Steelers. Of course he’ll have to give up his partial ownership of the Steelers in order to take over the Browns.
