We reported earlier that Elvis Dumervil wasn’t thrilled with the Broncos’ contract offer, which will force him to meet with other teams.
Even though the Broncos’ offer wasn’t what Dumervil is looking for, they prefer to have him back, according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. The only problem is that they can’t afford to give him the $8 million he was going to get when they restructured his contract. Unfortunately since he was releasedit created over $4 million in dead money, which is keeping Denver from being able to offer him $8 million for the 2013 season.
The Broncos will now meet with Dwight Freeney and John Abraham in case they aren’t able to get Dumervil back.
