The Denver Broncos and all pro corner Champ Bailey have resumed contract talks according to the Denver Post.
Head coach John Fox had the following comments regarding Bailey,
“He’s a guy we have strong feelings about. We’ve had some dialogue there. There have been discussions.”
“He’s a guy we definitely want to bring back. You never know how things like that work out, but we’re moving forward as best we know how.”
The Broncos would rather try to negoiate a deal with Bailey right now rather then slap the franchise tag on him and have to pay him about $15 million in 2011.
The difficulty with trying to re-sign Bailey is figuring out his worth and how long of a contract to offer. Since he is slowly declining you dont want to over pay of extend him too long.
