Brian Urlacher has missed six straight practices

Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher missed his sixth straight practice on Tuesday. Head coach Lovie Smith said it was for personal reasons, but I’m not buying it.
“I know a lot of you are asking about Brian Urlacher,” Smith said. “He’s been excused again for personal reasons. When we have more information, Brian will be our (middle) linebacker this year and all kinds of other things out there. Devin Hester missed today. Guys are gonna miss some days from time to time for different reasons. Devin was a little sick today. He should be ready to go also.”
It sounds like to me that Smith is trying to play off the fact that Urlacher’s knee is a concern going forward. He’s not getting any younger and the fact that his knee is still acting up from an MCL injury he suffered back in January, is not a good sign.
