According to Al Jones of the Biloxi Sun Herald, former NFL quarterback Brett Favre is expected to be named the new offensive coordinator at Oak Grove High School with head coach Nevil Barr.

“He is taking a job out there,” Favre’s agent Bus Cook said, per the Sun Herald. “He is going out there, and it will give him something to do.”

According to coach Barr, nothing is official yet.

“Right now nothing is official,” Barr said. “Brett is on vacation in Colorado, and we will talk on Monday. We will talk on Monday to see how involved he wants to be. We lost our offensive coordinator a few weeks ago.

“We have talked about it, and we will do more talking on Monday. It will be good for the kids. He is still very enthusiastic on the field.”

Hopefully this will help Favre cope with not playing the game of football anymore, since we know so many former players have trouble when they have to retire.
