Brent Grimes running with the Dolphins first-team

According to the Miami Herald, cornerback Brent Grimes ran with the first team defense as he continues comeback from a season-ending Achilles injury from last season.

Brent Grimes (looking fully recovered from last September’s Achilles injury) and Richard Marshall (looking fully recovered from last season’s back injury) opened with the first team.  Dimitri Patterson and Nolan Carroll lined up with the second team. Second-round pick Jamar Taylor was not present, as noted…. Grimes was very sharp on intermediate routes, knocking away passes to Rishard Matthews and Armon Binns, but was beaten deep once by Binns…. Marshall was beaten deep by Brian Hartline on a Ryan Tannehill throw. Hartline scored on the play.

If Grimes can stay healthy, he’ll be an upgrade over Sean Smith who bolted in free agency.
