San Francisco 49ers running back Brandon Jacobs says he feels great and is ready to get back on the field and play in a game.
“I feel great. I feel phenomenal. My leg is as fresh as yours,” said Jacobs, per USA Today.
Jacobs says he was ready to go last week even tough he was inactive.
“And the week before as well,” said Jacobs
Jacobs was asked if it was his call to sit out last week.
“No. I’m just here doing what I’ve got to do, listening to people, practicing every day. That’s all I can do,” he said.
Jacobs admits that he’s frustrated since coming to San Francisco.
“Oh, very. Because I don’t know anything. I don’t know what’s what,” he said. “But I’m hanging in there, I’m working every day, doing what I have to do. Let’s say I’m just working and doing what I have to do and that’s that.
“I’ve learned over the years when you open your mouth and say certain things, it hurts you, so I’m just going to shut up and keep working.”
Jacobs was asked how he’d feel if he doesn’t play this week against his former team.
“It would disappoint me a lot,” he said. “But like I said, it’s not my call.”
Not sure what the 49ers are waiting for. But if they’re going to use Jacobs, this would be the week, the Giants run defense has struggled over the past two weeks.
