Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew will sit out this week’s preseason game as a precaution and Blaine Gabbert will get the start for Jacksonville.
This has been a closely contested battle throughout camp, with Henne perhaps playing slightly better so far. But Gabbert probably would have to faceplant in order to lose the job because of his status as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. The new Jaguars regime of Bradley and general manager David Caldwell didn’t invest their own resources in Gabbert, but they need to make a decision about his future.
