Bills’ GM Doug Whaley says E.J. Manuel will compete for starting job

New Bills general manager Doug Whaley told the media that rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel will have a chance to compete for the starting job.

“Time will tell,” said Whaley, per BuffaloBills.com. ”He does have the work ethic and the leadership qualities that he’ll have a chance. But we believe competition brings out the best in everybody. Between him, Kevin Kolb, Tarvaris Jackson, even Jeff Tuel, we’re excited to see who comes out on top of that position battle.”

I think there’s a chance both Jackson or Kolb will be the Bills week one starter.  But I also believe that at some point during the 2013 season, Manuel will take over.
