Former Colts general manager Bill Polian told Michelle Steele on ESPN’s SportsCenter that he’s not speaking to Colts owner Jim irsay after his comments this week in which he took a shot at Polian and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
Steele: Have you spoken to Mr. Irsay?
Polian: I have not.
Steele: Do you plan to?
Polian was then asked to expand on his thoughts regarding Irsay’s comments.
“My Lord, we won more games for 10 years than any team in the history of the league,” Polian said via ProFootballTalk.com. “Eleven playoff appearances in 13 years so, you know, that’s the definition of winning.”
Polian even said that Manning “won’t like the pregame ceremony, whatever it may be” that Irsay has planned for his return to Indy because he doesn’t like anything that can distract him.
Steele then said she believed the break up between the Colts and Manning was “amicable,” but Polian disagreed.
“He wanted to stay very badly right up until the end,” Polian said of Manning. “They cut him.”
Polian made it clear he’s rooting for the Broncos on Sunday.
“My heart would be with the Broncos all the way,” Polian said.
