Bears expect Brian Urlacher to practice next week

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Bears head coach Lovie Smith indicated that linebacker Brian Urlacher is expected to practice next week and be ready for their season opener.

“Two weeks removed from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, Chicago Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher remains sidelined in practice. But coach Lovie Smith said Tuesday he expects Urlacher to return to practice next week and play in the Sept. 9 opener against the Indianapolis Colts at Soldier Field,” Biggs wrote.

The Bears have been expecting Urlacher to practice for a while now and I know he just had surgery to fix the issues he was having with his knee, but I’m still skeptical that he’ll be ready for the opener.
