As the Chicago Bears continue to force running back Matt Forte to wait for a new contract, his value will only continue to sky rocket. Each week he has continued to prove that he possesses the ability to be an elite player when he gets the ball in his hands.
Steve Jenson of the Chicago Sun-Times brought up an interesting possibility. He mentioned that since Forte is set to hit the free agent market this coming offseason, the Bears may decide to franchise him and pay him around $8 million for next season.
But, if the Bears aren’t willing to pay Forte $8 million next season, they may end up trading him so they can get the most value they can in return for him. This might allow the Bears to get at least a second round pick in return.
If the Bears do trade Forte, it would likely be during the offseason when they would have the oppuruntity to place the franchise tag on him and then deal him away.
I believe the Bears may be reluctant to pay Forte big time money since their offense is pass oriented. Which may lead them to not see the value in having a running back with a big contract.

you want to see the most dumb thing the bears could do that would be it come on only reason why they even have a passing game is cause of forte it called checks and banlance so if they do that it would be bad news bears and proable a horrible season next year
i would have to agree that would be the dumbest thing they could do. I mean really trade him because he is to good and we don’t want to pay him.I have to say though it would be something angelo would do he is an idiot.
