According to CSNBayArea.com, after working out for the 49ers on Thursday, free agent wide receiver Austin Collie left San Francisco without a contract.
“It’s still ongoing,” 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said. “There are still a few more things we want to have checked out.”
Harbaugh was asked if they’ll add another receiver for training camp.
“Yeah, it’s a possibility,” he replied.
Harbaugh is impressed with how well Collie’s surgically repaired knee looks.
“He had a patellar tear 7 1/2 months ago and he’s very far along,” Harbaugh said. “It’s pretty impressive.”
Even though Collie is healthy and looking good right now, the question is, how long will it take before he suffers another concussion?
At the end of the day, I think a team will take a chance on him and sign him at some point.
