According to Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel ripped team president Joe Banner and general manager Howie Roseman on Wednesday for acting like they’re running a fantasy football team.
During training camp and right up to last week’s trade deadline, Samuel has been rumored to be on his way out of Philly.
“That sucks, doesn’t it?” Samuel said. “Each trade deadline for your name to be flying around and you’re supposed to be the leader of this team?”
Samuel said that over the summer a team official told him the Eagles were trying to trade him. He was asked if he feels wanted by the organization.
“By Andy. Couple people upstairs might not want me, but who cares? They’ve probably never played football.”
“It’s a business and they run it like a business and they’re going to do what they need to do. They’re playing with a lot of money, playing fantasy football, doing their thing.”
It’s hard to disagree with Samuel’s fantasy football reference. The Eagles did sign a lot of big name free agents. And after they signed those free agents, they expected a magical season, which right now needs to quickly be rejuvenated.Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
