If you were thinking about selling your Aaron Hernandez jersey on eBay to capitalize on a tragedy you might want to hold off.
There is apparently one buyer who is so disgusted with these sellers that he is placing the highest bid to win the auction and then when it comes time for payment he refuses to pay up. Instead the “buyer” sends the seller an email condemning their actions.
One seller told Yahoo! Sports that he thought he was going to receive $305 for a Hernandez jersey along with a signed mini-helmet when he received the email.
I don’t think that I will be getting paid,” the seller wrote to Yahoo! Sports. “The person emailed me stating I should ‘burn the jersey and stop seeking money for that morons (sic) actions’. Looks like the person has some kind of social agenda.
Good for this guy though it’s surprising that eBay hasn’t suspended him yet. I still find it weird that people are willing to pay top-dollar for a jersey of a (alleged) murderer. Good thing the internet was still a baby when O.J (or Ray Lewis for that matter) went to trial.
