The San Francisco 49ers are probably in the best position to draft former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore who’s rehabbing from a serious knee injury.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter brought up the point that the Niners have 15 picks in next month’s draft, and are already loaded talent throughout their roster. They can afford to take a risk with Lattimore.
The 49ers won’t need Lattimore to come in right away and contribute. If things go well, he could end up taking over for Frank Gore when he retires within the next couple of years.
