49ers’ fan scammed out of $5,900 for Super Bowl tickets, receives note that says “Go Ravens”

According to the San Jose Mercury News, a couple in the San Francisco area found a person on Craigslist that was supposedly selling four Super Bowl tickets for $5,900.  The seller was supposedly a Ravens fan, but they didn’t care, they wanted the tickets.

So after emailing, texting and talking with the seller on the phone for a week, they wired the money to his credit union. On Monday, the highly anticipated package arrived — by FedEx.

Instead of Super Bowl tickets, inside was a picture of quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Joe Flacco with a message underneath that read: “Enjoy the game!!!! Go Ravens!!! LOL.”

“I’m just sick — like, physically sick,” said Sharon Osgood, a 49-year-old Hayward resident. “All over the envelope it says ‘go Ravens’ — even on the FedEx label.”

People are always warned of scammers and Craigslist is the worst place to buy anything in my opinion.  I feel bad for this couple.  Unfortunately someone was able to take advantage of her desperation for a ticket to the Super Bowl.
