According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver has been formerly charged with one felony and two misdemeanors after last month’s hit and run accident that occurred in Santa Clara, CA.
Culliver, 25, is scheduled to be arraigned on those charges on Friday. It will more than likely be continued to a later day to allow Culliver time to enter a plea.
The District Attorney’s office charged Culliver with felony possession of metal knuckles. If convicted, it carries a prison sentence of 16 months, two years or three years. A judge has discretion to grant probation and a sentence of no time to one year.
He also faces a misdemeanor charge of hit-and-run causing injury, as well as misdemeanor hit-and-run causing property damage.
Chances are that Cullver won’t get prison time, but we really don’t know at this point.
