San Francisco 49ers wide receiver A.J. Jenkins is very grateful for the veterans around him that are helping him transition to the NFL.
“Yeah, I feel I like I have the perfect fit,” Jenkins said Thursday after a two-hour practice. “With those kinds of veterans guiding me through the way, I’m trying to learn things, trying to be a veteran.
“That’s perfect. I got (Michael) Crabtree,(Randy) Moss, Jerry Rice and (Mario) Manningham. Even Brandon Jacobs is talking to me a lot, (and) Alex Smith is talking to me a lot. I have a lot of great experience around me.”
Even though Jenkins was drafted in the first round, he doesn’t have a lot of pressure to come in right away and be a playmaker because the 49ers already have guys like Moss, Manningham and Crabtree.
